Dye paste printing: does number of squeegee pulls have an effect on colour intensity?

I wanted to know whether the colour achieved will change depending on how many squeegee pulls used to apply it. The thinking behind this is that if I have worked I achieve a specific shade, then accidentally use 3 pulls instead of 2, would I change the final colour achieved.  I did a few experiments as show in the image below.  My final conclusion was no. Although if not enough Paste is printed onto the fabric the result is lifter, it is also patchy and uneven as the colour has not properly penetrated the fibres. The difference between the minimum number of squeegee pulls needed to achieve an even shade and any number above is so small as any excess dye washes out after steaming.
